Each job is also covered by our Client Service Agreement. If the two ever conflict, the Client Service Agreement controls for that job.
1. Our services
1.1 We load, haul and dispose of non-hazardous junk and debris for residential, commercial, industrial and dockside customers in the areas of Louisiana listed on our Service Area page (which areas we cover depends on the type of job). Our operating hours are 6 AM to 10 PM, 7 days a week.
1.2 We may decline any job, including one that is outside our service area, unsafe, larger than our equipment can handle, or that includes items we don't take.
1.3 We work from land. We do not remove material from the water or from vessels.
2. Quotes and prices
2.1 A quote is an estimate based on the information you give us, such as your description, photos and location. We price each job on three things:
- the type of material;
- the amount, measured by volume and, for heavy material, by weight; and
- the distance to the drop-off or disposal site, which covers fuel, vehicle maintenance and any disposal fees.
2.2 Unless your quote says otherwise, it is good for 14 days.
2.3 We confirm the price with you on site before we load anything. If the job is different from what you described (for example, more items, different materials, or a harder carry), we will give you a revised price before we continue. You can accept it or decline the extra work.
2.4 If you decline a revised price, you pay only for anything already loaded at the agreed price. A trip fee applies only as described in Section 6.2 (late cancellation, or no access when we arrive).
3. What we take and don't take
3.1 We accept non-hazardous items such as furniture, large and bulky objects, metals and scrap, plastics, paper and cardboard, and everyday trash.
3.2 Prohibited Items. At this time we do not accept: food or food waste; chemicals; paint, stain or finishes; batteries of any kind; fuel, motor oil or other petroleum products; propane tanks or other pressurized containers; asbestos or materials that may contain it; medical, biohazard or sharps waste; ammunition, fireworks or explosives; or any other hazardous, toxic or regulated waste under federal or Louisiana law (together, "Prohibited Items").
3.3 Some items are accepted only if we agree in advance, including appliances that contain refrigerant, tires, electronics, and very heavy materials such as concrete, brick, dirt or roofing.
3.4 You agree not to include Prohibited Items in any load. If we find them, we may refuse to take them, leave them on site, or stop the job. If a Prohibited Item ends up on our truck or at a disposal site because it was hidden, mislabeled or not disclosed, you are responsible for the cost of handling, removing and disposing of it, and for any fines, fees or damages that result.
4. Ownership and authority
4.1 You confirm that you own the items you ask us to remove, or have the legal right to have them removed, and that you have permission to give us access to the property. For commercial, industrial and dockside sites, you confirm that you are authorized to act for the business and, where needed, the property owner or operator.
4.2 Once items are loaded on our truck, they become ours to recycle, donate or dispose of as we choose, in line with the law. We cannot return items once they are loaded.
4.3 Please check pockets, drawers, boxes and bags before pickup. We are not responsible for cash, documents, jewelry, keepsakes or other valuables left in items you give us.
5. Your responsibilities
To help the job go safely and on time, you agree to:
- give us accurate information about the items, the amount, the location and the access;
- provide safe, clear access to the items and a lawful place for our truck to park;
- tell us about anything that could be a hazard, such as stairs, weak floors, low wires, animals, mold or pests;
- keep children and pets away from the work area;
- arrange any permits, building or HOA approvals, gate access, escorts or credentials the site requires (for example, a TWIC escort at a secure port facility), and tell us your site's safety rules; and
- have someone available on the day to approve the price and answer questions.
6. Scheduling, delays and cancellations
6.1 We schedule jobs within our operating hours, 6 AM to 10 PM, 7 days a week. Arrival times are windows, not guarantees. Weather, traffic, river conditions, mechanical problems or an earlier job running long can delay us. We will let you know as soon as we can, and reschedule if needed.
6.2 Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your appointment. If you cancel later than that, or we arrive and can't get to the job, we may charge the trip fee stated in your quote, if any.
6.3 We may reschedule or cancel a job for safety reasons, severe weather, equipment problems or other events outside our control. If we do, we won't charge you a cancellation fee, and neither of us is liable to the other for the delay.
7. Payment
7.1 Payment is due when the job is complete, unless we agree to different terms in writing (for example, invoice terms for a business).
7.2 We accept the payment methods listed on your quote or invoice.
7.3 Unpaid balances may earn interest from the due date at the rate allowed by Louisiana law. You agree to pay the reasonable costs of collecting an unpaid balance, including attorney fees, to the extent the law allows.
8. Property damage
8.1 We work carefully and take reasonable steps to protect your property. Moving large, heavy items through tight spaces can still leave minor scuffs or marks.
8.2 We are not responsible for:
- damage that existed before we arrived;
- damage caused by a condition you knew about and didn't tell us about;
- minor scuffs or marks that can't reasonably be avoided when moving large items through tight spaces you asked us to use;
- wear or marks on driveways, lawns, curbs or other surfaces where you directed our truck to park or drive; or
- damage to the items you asked us to remove.
8.3 If you believe we damaged your property, please tell us in writing (text or email is fine) within 48 hours of the job, with photos, and give us a reasonable chance to inspect it. We may choose to repair the damage, have it repaired, or pay the reasonable cost of repair.
9. Limitation of liability
9.1 To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim arising out of a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.
9.2 We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, such as lost profits, lost business or loss of use.
9.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for intentional or gross fault, or for causing physical injury, where Louisiana law (including Louisiana Civil Code article 2004) does not allow it.
10. Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Junk to Geaux and its owners, employees and contractors from claims, costs, fines and damages (including reasonable attorney fees) that arise from: Prohibited Items you included or didn't disclose; your lack of ownership of, or authority over, the items or the property; inaccurate information you gave us; or your breach of these Terms. This does not apply to the extent a loss is caused by our own fault.
11. Privacy and communications
11.1 We collect the information you give us, such as your name, phone number, email, address, details and photos of the job, and payment records. We use it to quote, schedule, perform and bill jobs, and to keep business records. We do not sell your personal information.
11.2 If you contact us by phone, text or email, you agree that we may reply the same way about your quote or job. We won't send you marketing texts unless you agree to them. Message and data rates may apply, and you can ask us to stop texting you at any time.
11.3 We may take before and after photos of a job for our records. We won't publish photos that show your address, people, license plates or other identifying details without your permission.
11.4 The quote form on this Site opens an email in your own email app; the Site itself does not store what you type. Our web host may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, to run and protect the Site.
12. Using this website
12.1 The Site's content, including our name, logo and text, belongs to us. Please don't copy or reuse it without our written permission.
12.2 The Site gives general information about our Services. It is not an offer for any specific job, and details on it may change. Your quote and the Client Service Agreement set out the terms of your job.
12.3 The Site is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't promise that it will always be available or error-free.
13. Louisiana law and disputes
13.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana.
13.2 If a dispute comes up, we each agree to first try to resolve it informally: contact the other in writing, explain the problem, and allow 30 days to work it out.
13.3 If it isn't resolved, either of us may bring the dispute in a Louisiana court with proper jurisdiction and venue under Louisiana law.
14. General terms
14.1 We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Changes apply to quotes and jobs booked after that date.
14.2 If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect, and that part will be enforced to the fullest extent allowed.
14.3 If we don't enforce a part of these Terms right away, we haven't given up the right to.
14.4 These Terms, your quote and the Client Service Agreement are the whole agreement between you and us about the Services.
